Three Tips for Your First Date With A Russian or Ukrainian Lady

by on November 6, 2011

Whether you arrived with a tour group to go to social events or you’ve already met a Russian girl online and simply joined the tour group for the convenience of it, you’re bound to go on your first date with a special Ukrainian woman at some point during your tour. Here are some tips to help you get over the jitters and completely immerse yourself in the enjoyment of the date.

Tip #1: Invite Her to a Social Event

If you suddenly feel awkward about introducing yourself in person to a girl you met online, you can put her and yourself at ease by attending a social event together. Although most social events arranged by matchmaking firms comprise Ukrainian and Russian women you have never met before, you can simply request for the organizer to invite the girl you’ve been corresponding with online.

This is particularly true if you’re worried about language barriers and getting your message across. In social events or ‘socials’ there are interpreters around to translate for you. It will also be less awkward for the girl in particular if there are other men and women around with the same objective: to be introduced to “the one”.

But make sure you have eyes only for your special girl during these events, even if there’s eye candy for you anywhere you look. Ukrainian women are more conscious of how you look at other women during a date than western women.

When Ukrainian women go on a date, they dress up and look good for you and you alone, and some women will go as far as to wear your favorite color for the occasion. Therefore, it’s just proper that you put your imaginary blinders on and compliment only her for the rest of the evening. You can be polite with other women and chat with them, but make sure you keep the compliments and flattery exclusive to your girl.

Tip #2: Going on a Date

A day trip is the best option if you’re meeting for the first time and you want to go sightseeing with your girl as your guide. The best way is to agree on a location and make your way there on your own from your hotel. If possible, be the first one to arrive so that it won’t be awkward for her to wait for you in the freezing cold outside the coffee shop.

Schedule your date in such a way that you can catch a taxi easily and get to the location within the time frame you agreed on. Rush hours are the worst time for your date, so find a good time to travel to the location even if you’re a few hours early.

Speaking of taxis, there are official and unofficial ones in Ukraine. The official taxis are the ones with signs on top. You can find official taxis near bus stops and hotels. The unofficial taxis are driven by ordinary citizens or “private drivers” who stop and offer you a ride for a minimal fee when you stand by curb and raise your hand.

Tip #3: Conversation During Your Date

Some great topics for conversation involve holidays and traditions. Your Ukrainian girl would want to know how you celebrate similar holidays like the New Year, Christmas and others. Express your desire to come back to the Ukraine during one particular holiday so you can experience how she celebrates it firsthand.

Also, don’t be shy about your hopes for the future. Talking about family and children is good if you expect to be in a long distance relationship for a time. This way, you can see how she reacts to the prospect of building a family together with you, and living away from her homeland. Don’t worry, Ukrainian women are family oriented and you’re likely to find a devoted girl who will be excited at the thought of spending the rest of her life caring for you and your children.
